Accommodations Inn & Cottages:
At High Hampton you are 3600 feet closer to heaven. Mixed hardwoods
and evergreens accent this 1400-acre estate. Rooms are convenient to
the dining room, lobby, and activity centers. Each of the 117 rooms
has a private bath. Some suites are available. The décor is mountain
rustic. Interiors are natural woods from the High Hampton estate
applied in a board and batten pattern. Floors are carpeted. There are
no telephones or TVs in the rooms, but they are available in the lobby
and common areas of the Inn.
|
Accommodations Colony Homes:
Guests at High Hampton may choose to stay in one of the High Hampton
Colony Homes on the estate. Each home is on a wooded lot and is fully
furnished. There is a great room with fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen,
and outdoor grill. Homes have either 2,3, or 4 bedrooms, each with a
private bath. Cathedral ceilings, color TV and VCR, telephone, and daily
maid service add to the comfort of staying in one of the High Hampton
Colony Homes. They are available through our reservation office on a daily,
weekly or longer basis, with or without meals at the Inn.

All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are served buffet style and feature
a selection of excellent dishes. Fresh flowers accent the tables. Entrees
include fresh local trout, prime rib, London broil, duck, lamb, baked ham,
chicken, salmon and steak. Vegetables are fresh. Salad selections are delightful.
Breads and desserts are homemade.
Afternoon tea is a tradition at High Hampton Inn, a holdover from the days
of attention to quality of leisure and conversation. Every day from 4 to 5 p.m.,
coffee, tea and cakes are served in the lobby of the Inn.
Rock Mountain Tavern is a place to meet fellow guests and enjoy soft music. Attire
is casual before 6:30 p.m., coat and tie afterwards. Mixed drinks, beer and wine
may be purchased from 5 to 10 p.m. Wine and beer may be purchased with the midday
and evening meals in the dining room. After dinner entertainment is offered each
evening in the lobby.
18-hole golf course:
Our course plays 6,012 yards from the back tees. The greens are bent grass. It
was designed by the late, eminent golf architect, George W. Cobb, A.S.G.C.A.,
who designed more than 350 courses, and complimented High Hampton by saying:
"I have yet to see a course - designed by me or by others - with greater natural
beauty or one more enjoyable to play." There are two putting greens and an
excellent practice area with a cover for protection from occasional rains.
|
Clay court tennis:
A few steps away from the Inn are five fast-dry clay courts and one red clay
exhibition court. The complete tennis shop offers equipment and apparel. A
tennis professional schedules adult and children's clinics and private lessons,
and arranges games and round-robin mixers.

Children's programs:
The Kid's Club is for young guests ages 5-12. Available daily 9 s.m.
to 2 p.m. with supervised activities such as nature walks, games, arts
and crafts, hiking, donkey cart rides, swimming and picnic lunches. Each
evening from 6-9 p.m. there are pajama parties, Mexican Fiestas, hayrides,
cookouts, and games to enjoy.
The Play Group is for children ages 2-4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, with
a high counselor-to-child ratio. Both groups use the playground, boathouse,
and beach area facilities.
Teen-age guests enjoy all High Hampton's activities, and have their own
Gathering Place with recreational facilities.
