Sissebagamah, as the Indians called it, is a most remarkable body of water. With a full spectrum of Minnesota's favorite game fish, this "Lake of Many Bays" is a northern Minnesota favorite, a gorgeous example of our region's beauty…and a grand lake to boat and fish. Our beach is an enviable stretch of sugar sand, and we have ample boat docking in our marina, with many boats for rent. The view from the Lodge and the lakeside cottages and villas is a great reminder of why northern Minnesota is a remarkably soothing place to be. Stroll along the lakeshore or among the plentiful and fragrant flower gardens. Swim the lake, or the pools…outdoor or indoor. Relax in the hot tub and sauna. Enjoy a set of tennis, or canoe our own special bay of this marvelous lake. We've got over 400 acres of playground for families to discover new adventures or spend quiet times together. Our guest's enjoyment is our only business. We've done it longer than anyone in this neck of the woods. We like to think we also do it better. If there's one thing our guests say we overdo, it's feeding them. This is one indulgence that we believe you deserve. And so, we do it up right. With fresh ingredients and tantalizing creative recipes, we go to great extremes to offer meals you won't soon forget. The Lakes, and 18-hole, 6,500-yard course, was carved from 250 acres of rugged north-woods terrain. With two natural lakes, water is a factor on ten holes. We also offer a nine-hole course - the beautiful Alec's Nine. Our new clubhouse tops of the major renovation we've done to our golf courses. That's where you'll find the Pro Shop and Zig's Steakhouse. All this to bring you a golf experience you'll definitely want to repeat. From fishing to Kid's Kamp, where they learn the wonders of nature, our smaller guests never run out of things to do. For all ages we offer great shopping in our Country Store and Auntie M's Kaffeehaus. The annual fall Oktoberfest celebrates the Ruttger family's European ancestry with music, food, dancing, and an arts and crafts fair. As one of the first Minnesota resorts to offer conference facilities, we've learned how to stay a few steps ahead of meeting planners and facilitators.
