There's something about islands…
Ours is a secluded strip of land off Florida's southwestern coast.
Once a haven for pirates and the beautiful women they held captive. Once
the home of a visionary inventor and his prosperous key lime pie and coconut
plantation. Always a tropical oasis.
Today, Captiva Island is home to South Seas Plantation. A three-hundred-and-
thirty-acre paradise that is the idyllic setting for mangrove forests, untold
species of migrating birds, manatees and dolphins. It is a place where golf and
tennis await. Where world-class fishing and shelling are just outside your
door.
Since the beginning of time our island has attracted pelicans and pirates,
sportsmen and sophisticates. Come get lost on our shores. And discover how easy
it is to find your own inner island at South Seas Plantation.
South Seas Plantation is, in a sense, an endless tropical playground. Short of polo
and mountain climbung, we provide almost any diversion you can imagine. Choose your
environment - land, sea or air - and we have an activity to entertain you.
Our championship 9-hole, par-36 seaside golf course will challenge your links skill.
Golf clinics are available at a fee. (The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club, our 18-hole
championship course, is just 12 miles away on Sanibel Island.) Our tennis courts are
great and tennis lessons and court times are available at a fee.
The famed waters - the Gulf of Mexico, Pine Island Sound and Redfish Pass - are teeming
with snook, tarpon, redfish, grouper and more. Drop a line from our T-dock or hook up
with a charter at the Bayside Marina.
Ready for a swim? Dip in one of our many pools. Later, you're welcome to hop on a bike,
ride past mangrove forests and paddle a kayak or canoe in our blue waters.
Kids become automatic members of our Explorer Kid's Club, featuring supervised activities,
interactive crafts and nature courses seven days a week. A visit to the Island Club gets
them started.
The Yacht Harbor is the place to board Captiva Cruises bound for other barrier islands,
plus nature and romantic sunset cruises on The Lady Chadwick.
Considered by many to be the finest yacht harbor on Florida's southwestern coast, the
South Seas Plantation Marina is renowned for it's comfort, luxury and convenience. With
our calm waters, clearly defined channel markers, six-foot low tide depth and 3,600 feet
of along-side berthing, you're assured of a safe harbor. We gladly welcome all sizes of
craft up to 120 feet.
Hop on shore and visit The Ship's Store and Deli, the perfect place to stock up on marine
groceries, ice, packaged goods and a complete selection of deli items including freshly
made salads, fresh fruit and dairy products.
A family feast, a quiet, candlelight dinner for two, a festive brunch, themed nightly
buffets and casual Italian fare - the menu of dining options at South Seas Plantation is
as long as it is delicious.
King's Crown, Captiva's finest restaurant, is the place to go for innovative epicurean
delights, creative new American cuisine and elegant waterfront dining. Why not select a
fine vintage from our wine list and feast on our chef's daily inspirations. Overlooking
scenic Pine Island Sound and the glowing reflections of the Gulf of Mexico it's perfect
dining. Jacket optional, reservations required.
Watch the yachts come and go from our Yacht Harbor for breakfast, lunch or dinner at
Cap'n Al's and experience a variety of fresh seafood specials daily.
Join us at Chadwick's for seasonal breakfasts, lunches and themed nightly dinner buffets
every day of the week. Here the buffets are abundant, and could include everything from
shrimp scampi, prime rib and jambalaya to vegetables galore and a dessert bar. You won't
want to miss Chadwick's famous Sunday Champagne Brunch.
For Italian fare - pizza, pasta, garlic bread and more - stop by Mama Rosa's and enjoy
home-cooked hearty fare, or have it delivered to your room.
Uncle Bob's Emporium is the perfect sweet-tooth spot for kids of all ages, offering ice
cream, confections, toys and educational games.
Drop by C.W.'s Market and Deli. It's a one-stop shop for everything from salads and deli
items to groceries and a wide variety of wine and beer.
For poolside or beachfront eats and thirst-quenching concoctions, stroll on over to The
Sand Bar or Pelican Pete's. And if it's room service you prefer, just pick up the
phone.
Looking for shopping? Step into Chadwick's Square. Here you'll find unique shops and
more. These excellent shopping opportunities offer natural-fiber clothing, elegant and
casual sportswear, sporting goods, beach essentials, gifts, jewelry and designer
originals.
Over in Chadwick's Circle you'll find the Tennis Shop featuring name-brand tennis wear
and accessories; the South Seas Shoppe offering distinctive gifts; and the Resort Salon
Services with everything from hair styling and manicures, to facials and body
treatments.
Around the yacht harbor you could find the perfect outfit at Reflections, and don't miss
the sunglasses selection at Shades of Captiva. Stop by On and Offshore for resort wear
and a variety of accessories.
Experience a private home on Captiva. It's as relaxing and gracious as having your
friends lend you their beach house for the week. Views of glorious sunrises and sunsets,
beach or bay views and a casual sense of seclusion. Of the many accommodation options we
offer, none are as delightfully secluded as our private homes. Located in a number of
areas around Captiva Island, these luxurious private homes are available with 2-, 3-
or 4-bedroom configurations.
Found both inside our gate and scattered throughout Captiva Island, each of the private
homes of South Seas Plantation is unique, with its own special amenities, and each is
fully prepared for you to settle right in. Be sure to inquire about each private home's
special features, such as swimming pools, screened porches, whirlpools and more.
