Breathe deeply the clear, pine-scented air. Let your eyes feast on the stunning
mountain scenery. Relax in the saddle as your sure-footed horse ambles along a
back country trail. Such are the simple pleasures of a C Lazy U Dude Ranch vacation.
Since 1946, the C Lazy U Ranch has been treating guests to the very finest in
gracious Western hospitality. It's earned us both the prestigious Mobil Travel
Guide "Five Star" Award and the American Automobile Association "Five Diamond"
Award - year after year. It's also earned us the loyalty of guests worldwide who
return to the C Lazy U to vacation with us season after season.
Little has changed over the years. The Murray Family still provides award-winning
accommodations, outstanding food, premier service, superior facilities, wonderful
children's programs, and limitless activities in an atmosphere of rustic elegance
and warm informality.
At the C Lazy U Ranch, there's still plenty of room to stretch out. Time to relax.
A range to ride. Mountains to explore. All simple pleasures to experience.
A group of our guests came for a week of fishing and Marion and Opal and Joe looked
after them. They had a good time and one man caught two huge rainbow trout, one
over four pounds and one over six pounds.
Those same trout filled streams still rush icy clear, waiting for you and your
Royal Coachman and your Elk Hair Caddis flies. Our experienced fishing guides will
share their favorite spots with you, or explore the many lakes and streams around
the Ranch on your own. That next four-pound rainbow trout could be yours.
If the fish aren't biting, try one of our many other summer activities: tennis,
hiking, skeet or trap shooting, nearby golfing, or swimming in our spring-fed,
heated pool. Better yet, saddle up. Somehow the surroundings are even grander
from horseback. Our horses range from gentle to spirited, and our wranglers will
select one to perfectly suit you. So you can roam our miles of scenic trails in
the cool mountain air of a Colorado summer. Across broad valleys. Over undiscovered
ridges. To never-ending vistas.
The already spectacular scenery at the Ranch unveils more glory in autumn. Aspens
crown the mountainsides in golden grandeur. Summer's warmth lingers during the mild,
bright days. The chilly nights merely hint at the season to come.
Autumn whispers its arrival at the C Lazy U, quietly settling in for a colorful but
all-too-brief stay. Fall here is exclusively for adults. The tranquility and stillness
are uninterrupted, whether you're riding through the freshly cut meadow, fly fishing
in a beautiful mountain stream, relaxing with a massage, or curling up with a favorite
book by an entrancing fireplace.

The scenery, the serenity, the splendid mountain isolation may make autumn
your ideal season at the C Lazy U. Certainly, it is a time to savor.
Back then, a lot of effort went into finding the perfect Christmas tree.
It's the same today. Somewhere on our 5,000 snow-covered acres of unspoiled
Rocky Mountain majesty is another beautiful tree that will grace our lodge
this year.
Decorate the freshly cut tree with us and celebrate an old-fashioned, family
Christmas at the C Lazy U, filled with song, spirit, and tradition. Just like
the ones you used to know.
Winter at the Ranch is warmed by that festive spirit and a full schedule of
activities, including our comprehensive children's program. Enjoy cross-country
skiing, ice-skating, sleigh rides, sledding, horseback riding outside or horsemanship
clinics in our 12,000 square-foot indoor riding arena, nearby downhill skiing,
and much more. Or unwind in our sauna or whirlpool. Relax in the cozy lodge bar.
Snuggle by the fire. Or do absolutely nothing at all. Start your own winter vacation
tradition at the C Lazy U.
It may be the mountain air, but life at the Ranch seems to inspire a powerful appetite
in our guests. Particularly children. Mealtime is one of the great joys at the C Lazy U.
But there's much more to it than the ample, five star caliber fare.
Meals are served family-style at the C Lazy U, in the rustic yet elegant dining room
of the Main Lodge. It's time to gather together and break bread, swap stories, share a
laugh, meet new friends, or get reacquainted with old ones.
Families begin each day together with a full breakfast. Adults and children dine
separately at lunch and dinner in order to accommodate the Ranch's high-spirited children's
program and offer adults an informal, relaxing meal.
The Ranch chef prepares a diverse daily menu of longtime favorites and regional specialties
such as aged prime Western beef, fresh Rocky Mountain trout, and rosemary rack of lamb,
always topped off by an irresistible dessert.
Following dinner, join others for a vibrant sing-along around the crackling fire, sip a
soothing after-drink, enjoy the evening's entertainment.
